Oscar "Oca" Ocaña, 64, of Queens Village, NY, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born on April 15, 1961 in San Roque, Navotas City, Metro Manila, Philippines, to Juanito Ocaña, Sr. and Esperanza "Espie" Ocaña. He immigrated to the United States as a young man, where he worked as a dedicated bellman for over 30 years.
He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, sense of humor, love of baseball (Let’s go Mets!), horse racing, casinos, fishing, seafood, and swimming.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Ocaña; his four sons, Joehl, Jordan, Jason, James; and his two grandchildren, Victor and Sophia. He is also survived by his mother, Esperanza, and his five siblings, Estrella "Ting" Mojica, Salvador "Boy" Ocaña, Juanito "Jojo" Ocaña, Jr., Wilson "Willy" Ocaña, and Luningning "Lulut" Valdez.
He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
