Maria Isabel Urena

Maria Isabel Urena, also known as Chavita, was born in Medellin, Colombia December 31, 1920.  She left her home at the age of 8 and never looked back.  She was a true survivor.  Maria was a kind and generous person.  Always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Whether it was offering a simple meal or a place to stay.  All who met Maria would describe her as the sweetest yet toughest person they knew, and they all loved her.  Maria enjoyed caring for her family and others.  She loved to cook, sing, and dance.  She loved empanadas and ice cream. And she especially loved watching soccer and boxing matches.  Maria's greatest accomplishment was the family she formed.  She passed away in her sleep at the age of 102.  She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, unwavering faith, and love.  She is survived by her daughters Fanny, Lesbia and Estella.  Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Maria is preceded in death by her children Mario and Sara.  She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 

María Isabel Ureña, también conocida como Chavita, nació en Medellín, Colombia, el 31 de diciembre de 1920.  Dejó su casa a la edad de 8 años y nunca miró hacia atrás.  Ella fue una verdadera sobreviviente.  María era una persona amable y generosa.  Siempre dispuesto a echar una mano a cualquier persona que lo necesite.  Ya sea ofreciendo una comida sencilla o un lugar para quedarse.  Todos los que conocieron a María la describirían como la persona más dulce pero dura que conocían, y todos la amaban.  María disfrutaba cuidando de su familia y de los demás.  Le encantaba cocinar, cantar y bailar.  Le encantaban las empanadas y el helado. Y le encantaba especialmente ver partidos de fútbol y boxeo.  El mayor logro de María fue la familia que formó.  Falleció mientras dormía a la edad de 102 años.  Ella deja atrás un legado de resiliencia, fe inquebrantable y amor.  Le sobreviven sus hijas Fanny, Lesbia y Estella.  Sus nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos.  María es precedida en la muerte por sus hijos Mario y Sara.  Ella será profundamente extrañada, pero nunca olvidada.
