Luz María Martínez, querida matriarca y querida abuela, falleció pacíficamente, dejando un legado de bondad y generosidad que siempre será recordado por su familia y amigos. Era conocida cariñosamente como "La Abuelita" y era considerada la abuela de todos, un faro de amor y calidez.

Nacida en Medellín, Colombia en 1937, Luz María se mudó a Estados Unidos en la década de 1970 y se estableció en Queens, Nueva York. Amaba su ciudad natal y nunca deseó irse, encontrando alegría y satisfacción en la vibrante comunidad a la que llamaba hogar.

Luz María no solo era el corazón de nuestra familia; Ella era nuestro fundamento, nuestra alma y nuestra conciencia. Su aguda mente, especialmente para el cálculo mental, fue admirada por todos los que la conocieron. Pero quizás su legado más duradero fue su increíble generosidad y ¡Frijoles! Su espíritu desinteresado y su dedicación a ayudar a los demás dejaron una marca indeleble en las vidas que tocó.

Le sobreviven sus devotos hijos, Víctor Hugo y María Clara, sus nietos, Gina, Javier, Alejandro y Edgar, quienes llevan adelante su espíritu y valores, y su bisnieta, Avril, quien trajo una inmensa alegría a su vida y su amoroso compañero de vida, Luis Fernando. El legado de Luz María sigue vivo en cada uno de ellos, un testimonio del amor y la sabiduría que impartió.

Luz María fue más que nuestra abuela; Ella fue nuestra madre, nuestra guía y nuestro apoyo inquebrantable. Su recuerdo permanecerá para siempre como una piedra angular en nuestros corazones, una fuente de inspiración y fuerza.

Luz Maria Martinez, beloved matriarch and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will forever be remembered by her family and friends. She was affectionately known as “La Abuelita”; and was considered everyone’s grandmother, a beacon of love and warmth.

Born in Medellin, Colombia in 1937, Luz Maria moved to America in the 1970s and settled in Queens, NY. She loved her hometown and never wished to leave, finding joy and contentment in the vibrant community she called home.

Luz Maria was not just the heart of our family; she was our foundation, our soul, and our conscience. Her sharp mind, especially for mental math, was admired by all who knew her. But perhaps her most enduring legacy was her incredible generosity and Frijoles! Her selfless spirit and dedication to helping others left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

She is survived by her devoted children, Victor Hugo and Maria Clara, her grandchildren, Gina, Javier, Alejandro, and Edgar who carry forward her spirit and values, and her great-grandchild, Avril, who brought immense joy to her life and her loving life partner, Luis Fernando. Luz Maria’s legacy lives on in each of them, a testament to the love and wisdom she imparted.

Luz Maria was more than just our grandmother; she was our mother, our guide, and our unwavering support. Her memory will forever remain a cornerstone in our hearts, a source of inspiration and strength.
