Hermanus Orlando Rombot, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on November 2, 2024, in Queens, New York and surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 19, 1942 in Limboto, Indonesia, Hermanus dedicated his life to his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Kartini, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
As a proud father to Caroline and Cindy, Hermanus instilled values of kindness, resilience, and hard work in his daughters. His unwavering support and guidance shaped them into the remarkable women they are today. Hermanus was also a beloved grandfather, delighting in the joys of his grandchildren—Aiden, Raffaella, Chloe, and Nicole—and always finding time for their stories and adventures.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kartini; his daughters, Caroline (Ryan, Son in law) and Cindy (Jemie, Son in law); and his grandchildren, who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts.
A celebration of Hermanus’ life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Gerard J Neufeld Funeral Home, located at 88-04 43rd Ave., Elmhurst, NY. The viewing will be at 3-5 PM and Memorial Service at 5-7 PM.
