It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of George Philippe Rabbat, our beloved paternal figure and a loving friend to all who knew him. Georgie touched so many lives with his kind heart, generous nature and lively spirit.
Georgie was born in Cairo, Egypt and arrived to New York City in 1970. He worked for The Bank of New York until his retirement in 1989.
Georgie was vivacious. He enjoyed his early morning walks in a three-piece suit and white sneakers, making it to the racetracks even in the middle of a NYC heatwave, weekend trips to Atlantic City, loved pizza and (too much) ice cream. He spoke five languages (although not Spanish), loved math, and his favorite TV shows of all time were Married, with Children and Mr Bean.
He leaves behind his surrogate family Blanca and Veronica and his nieces Carole in New Jersey and Michelle in Geneva.
May he rest in peace.
