Edward Michael Luyo Ayala

Edward Michael Luyo Ayala passed away tragically on March 31, 2026. He was a devoted son, loyal brother and loving boyfriend. He was born on October 2, 1981 to Samuel Luyo and Elizabeth Ayala in Lima, Peru.

Edward was a happy kid and enjoyed playing soccer, climbing trees and flying kites. As a young teen, Edward worked at his uncle’s car repair shop and used the money to buy himself a bicycle. His mother immigrated to the US when he was 13 and he later joined her when he was 15. Edward was always an extremely hard worker. In 1997, he worked at various restaurant jobs and in 1999 began doing hardwood flooring and other construction work. In 2001, he helped to clean up ground zero which was emotionally taxing. In 2002, Edward began working in concrete polishing and flooring and eventually opened his own company with his brother called Quality Polishing Surfaces Inc up until present day. Edward loved the NYC vibe, walking all over the city and buying records at Generation Record in the village. Music was his passion and he enjoyed the underground music scene NYC offered. 

Edward had a good heart and was a generous person, always caring for, helping and protecting his friends and family. He was there to help anyone in need and never expected anything in return. He was a free spirit and loved adventures and traveling, especially going on road trips with his girlfriend to visit national parks around the country. He enjoyed nature, hiking, kayaking, crystal hounding and working with plants. Edward was a noble person, he was loved greatly and life will not be the same without him. His passing hurts deeply, but we know his essence will live on in every memory, in every story, and in every place he loved to discover. Rest in peace beloved Edward. You will always be remembered with love.
