Adelaida Midel

Adelaida Melindo Midel died peacefully in Elmhurst Care Center on May 6. 2023 at the age of 82.  Adelaida is survived by her child, Myra Salinas, her grandchildren Kai and Zoe Salinas, and her siblings Estelita Melindo, Soliven Melindo and Rudy Melindo.  Adelaida was born on December 16, 1940 in Catubig, Northern Samar, Philippines.  She was the first person to be an accountant in her village.  She moved to the United States to provide herself and her family better opportunities and worked as an accountant until her retirement.  Adelaida was an active, lively, and independent woman with a passion for dancing and travelling.  She was an active member of her church, most recently St. Nicholas of Tolentine and Ascension Catholic Church.  A viewing will take place at Gerard J. Neufeld Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11 from 2PM to 7PM.  Mass will take place at Ascension Church on Friday, May 12, 10AM followed by Cremation at All Souls Crematory at 11:30AM.  Lunch will be held afterwards with family and friends.
