Marie Louise Capochiano

Marie Louise Capochiano, née Quartermaine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 25, 2019 after a long illness. Louise was born to Mary Quartermaine, née Connaughton and Arthur Quartermaine on February 17, 1934 in New York City. While accompanying her parents as they worked between the Upper East Side of Manhattan and Newport RI, she came to love the “City by the Sea”. It was in Newport that she met Michael Capochiano, her husband of 54 years. Louise graduated from Hunter College and began a long career as NYC public school teacher. Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She is survived by her husband Michael, her brother Arthur Quartermaine, and her children Michael Arthur and Barbara Brown, née Capochiano. Perhaps her greatest joy was being grandmother to Autumn Brown, Olivia Capochiano, Madeline Brown, and Camden Capochiano. Viewing at Neufeld’s in Elmhurst on Monday, October 28th from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 29th at 9:45AM at St. Joan of Arc in Jackson Heights. Internment at St. Michael’s in East Elmhurst.
